On September 8, 2025, the Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL) received a complaint regarding an allegation of hazardous material used in a manner and under the conditions that constituted a hazard to children. There is no evidence to substantiate this complaint as the provider reported an outside agency determined the mace found in the family child care home was in a cabinet out of reach of the children and not in the child care area and was not the same mace used in the incident outside the home. However, OCCL was unsuccessful in obtaining corroboration of this statement. The incident occurred off the child care premises and all children were inside the home at the time of the incident. …
