Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 9, 2026 Service: Childcare Alerts, operated by Childcare Alerts LLC ("we," "us," "our").
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Childcare Alerts (the "Service"), you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Email address — to create your account and send the alerts you request.
- Your watchlist — the child care centers you choose to follow.
- Communications — messages you send us (e.g., support requests).
- Payment information — if you purchase a paid subscription, our third-party payment processor collects and processes your payment details. We do not receive or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic technical and usage data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps, collected through standard server logs and privacy-respecting analytics.
- Cookies or similar technologies used to keep you signed in and to understand usage. We use only essential and analytics cookies; we do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
We do not knowingly collect the personal information of children. The Service is intended for parents and other adults, not for use by children under 13.
2. How we use information
We use your information to:
- provide the Service and send the licensing alerts you sign up for;
- verify your email address (double opt-in) and manage your account;
- respond to your requests and provide support;
- process payments for paid features (via our processor);
- maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law;
- understand and improve the Service.
The center-licensing records shown in the Service come from public government sources, not from you, and are governed by our Terms of Service.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or share it for others' advertising. We share limited information only with:
- Service providers who operate the Service on our behalf (e.g., hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing), under contracts that limit their use of the data to providing services to us;
- Legal and safety recipients when required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public;
- A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change in how your information is handled.
4. Email communications and your control
Alert and account emails relate to the service you requested. Every alert email includes a working unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Consistent with the CAN-SPAM Act, we honor opt-out requests promptly. We may still send essential account or transactional messages (for example, confirming a change you made) where permitted.
5. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account or unsubscribe, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information (for example, encrypted connections and access controls). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights and choices
You may access, correct, or delete your account information, or unsubscribe from alerts, through your account settings or by emailing us at support@childcarealertsapp.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example, to request a copy or deletion of your personal information, or to opt out of certain processing). To exercise any right, contact us at support@childcarealertsapp.com; we will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
8. Third-party sites
The Service links to official government records and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites; their policies govern your use of them.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where required.
